Review: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Polish in Boca Mocha

I've been trying to find a brown/beige shade of nail polish that I actually like. I wanted to try OPI Barefoot in Barcelona but was not able to find it. Instead I purchased Sally Hansen's Complete Manicure Polish in Boca Mocha from my local Target. These polishes run for about $6.98 a bottle.

The product is just ok. The application is pretty smooth and the polish itself hasn't chipped yet and I've been wearing it for a few days. The color was not quite what I was expecting. It looks a lot lighter in the picture than it actually is in person. Overall I'm not disappointed in my purchase, but I'm not excited about it either.

This is three coats including a top coat (forgive my sloppy job).

Must Have Product: China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat

I recently discovered China Glaze's fast forward top coat which promises to quickly dry nails while providing shine. I applied it to wet nail polish and it went on smoothly without smearing my polish. Less than a minute later, my nails were almost completely dry. By two minutes I could run my fingers over the polish without smudging it. This is a product that really does what it promises. If you add this product to your collection you won't have to spend forever waiting for your nails to dry ever again. It is an absolute must have product. N.Y.C. Luxury Lime Creme Polish Review

Now that I've discovered N.Y.C. polishes I can't seem to stop buying them. When O.P.I. came out with the Shrek Forever After collection I wanted to try the Who the Shrek Are You? color but I have never in my life worn green nail polish and I was nervous about how it would look on me ($8.00 is a lot to spend on a polish you will only wear once). I brought this N.Y.C. color (again only 97 cents) to test the green color and I actually like the way it looks. The O.P.I. color is a lot different. It is lighter and more opaque but now that I know I can pull off a green color I may give it a try.

Just like with all my other N.Y.C. polishes I had to apply quite a few coats. The picture above is four coats with a top coat. The first coat was so sheer I could barely see it. But again, for 97 cents I think it looks pretty good.

N.Y.C Nail Polish Glitzy Grape Glitter Review

I love experimenting with my nails and trying new bold, bright colors. But I am an aspiring attorney and a lot of the colors I love are not really appropriate in a conservative office environment. So I've been on a quest to find colors that are still fun but work-appropriate.

I was in Target and came across this N.Y.C. polish. Normally I walk past the collection of N.Y.C. polishes because I've heard other people say that the colors never look as good on as they do in the bottle. But since it was under $1.00 I figured I could justify buying a color that I may never wear again.

I chose the Glitzy Grape because it had a slight touch of color but was still conservative enough to wear to work without offending anyone. Well to my surprise I actually fell in love with the color!

I had to apply 3 coats in order for the color to be as bright as it is in the bottle and even after that the color was still a little bit sheer. But this polish dries super fast so it makes having to apply so many coats a little less painful. I also don't know why it is classified as a long-wear enamel because after 2 days of wear my polish was already chipping. But I paid like .97 cents for it so what do you expect.

If you buy this polish you probably will have to touch your nails up quite often. But since I am experimenting with colors, the cheaper the polish the more colors I can try so it works for me.
