Tameka Raymond Looking Fabulous!
A week or so ago I was on theybf.com and while I was reading through the posts, I spotted a pic of Tameka Raymond as the fab photo of the day. I am not a Tameka fan (because really I have no idea what she does) but I have to admit she is looking really good these days. You can check out more pics here.

Celebs "Die" For World Aid's Day
That being said, I found the recent celeb campaign for Keep A Child Alive to be a tad bit disturbing. In honor of World Aids Day, a number of celebs joined Alicia Keys in an effort to draw awareness to the virus by vowing to "die" digitally. That means no twitter or facebook until 1 million dollars is raised for the Keep A Child Alive foundation.
Personally I think the "digital death" is a great idea. However, to me it is a little eery for people to pose in coffins when they aren't actually dead. I don't know why Hollywood is so hell bent on making death look glamorous. If you go to the Keep A Child Alive website, you will see that a number of the participating celebs were not actually photographed in the coffins. But of course, they aren't the ones getting all the press. For the ones that did pose, I guess to each his own. Would I have done it? Absolutely not. But maybe this campaign will actually help to save some lives. At the end of the day that's the most important thing.
Here are a few pics of some of the celebs who posed.
EDIT: Unfortunately this campaign was not successful. The posing in coffins idea was a complete fail! If you think your fans love you so much that they are going to use their hard earned money to give you back your digital life, then why would you think that they would want to see you lifelessly lying in a coffin?? It is beyond disturbing...

Hit or Miss: Katy Perry

Katy Perry made an appearance at Nordstrom in NYC today for the release of her new perfume Purr. When I first saw her in this Zac Posen dress, I loved it, but the picture I saw was taken from the waist up. Once I saw the whole dress, I wasn't really a fan of the bottom. However, overall, I still think she looks stunning.
What do you guys think? Is this a hit or a miss?

2010 VMA Fashion Misses
The MTV Video Music Awards aired Sunday night and I have to say they were pretty boring! The white carpet was full of celebs, some looking ok and others not so much. Since no one was a huge hit for me, I think it would be more entertaining to talk about the misses. Here are some of my least favorite (female) looks for the night.
1. Katy Perry
I'm not quite sure what look she was going for but to me she looks like she's getting ready to step out on the ice in her figure skating costume.
2. Ke$ha
At this point I'd be more surprised to see her wear something almost stylish to a red carpet event. Can you hear that? Tick, tick, tick....the clock is (finally) winding down on her career.
3. Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga has made a career off of being quirky and I can appreciate that. However, there is no reason to rock a dress made entirely of raw meat. Can you say unsanitary?
4. Evan Rachel Wood
Poor thing. I don't even know what to say about this look except fire your stylist immediately! I do actually love her red hair but that's about it.
5. Cher
Cher, the 80s called and they want their outfit back! Don't get me wrong, I was happy to see Cher make an appearance but why she had to do it in that getup is beyond me.

My Fall TV Must See List
I'm so excited to check out the Fall TV lineup. Here are some of the shows I plan to watch (at least once) in no particular order.
1. Desperate Housewives
Ok so this isn't technically a new show but after the theatrics that was the death of Eddie Britt I finally gave up on this show. But now that Vanessa Williams is joining the cast I am excited to check back in on Wisteria Lane. I absolutely love Ms. Williams and I was so mad when ABC cancelled Ugly Betty. I hope they make real use of her talent and that she doesn't just get a background role like Alfre Woodard did when she was on the show.
And I've also heard rumors that Brian Austin Greene is joining the cast. I don't know if it is true but he is hot hot hot!
2. My Generation
Now that I'm 7 years removed from high school I often find myself thinking about how different my life is now from what my 17 year old mind imagined it would be. My Generation (ABC) will follow the lives of former classmates 10 years after high school. The previews have looked pretty entertaining but I'm still not sure whether this will be as good as I think it will be. I can't wait to check it out.
3. Blue Bloods
I miss the days of really good cop dramas. Since distributors refuse to release NYPD Blue on DVD, I guess I'll have to hope that a new cop show can help me fill the void. This CBS show, starring Donny Wahlberg and Tom Selleck, follows the lives of a family of NY cops . I think this is the show I am anticipating the most.
4. Outlaw

This NBC show starring Jimmy Smits is about a Supreme Court judge who leaves the bench to return to private practice so he can fix the system he believes to be broken. It's been a long time since there was a good legal drama on TV (yes I liked Boston Legal but that was more of a comedy). Plus the show is produced by the same guy who made Alias which I really liked.
5. Law and Order-Los Angeles
Ok I know what you are thinking-how many Law and Orders is NBC going to make? I was thinking the same thing. But I think LA will provide a new twist to the show and with all the craziness going on in CA these days they will have plenty of stories to use for "inspiration". I'm not quite sure how I feel about Terrance Howard joining the cast though. I guess we'll have to wait and see...

6. Undercovers
This NBC show starring Boris Kodjoe and British new comer Gugu Mbatha-Raw looks to be a twist on Brad and Angie's Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Kodjoe and Mbatha-Raw play married spies that work together and from the previews that is all I can really figure out. The truth is, the reason why I am so excited about this show is because it features two black actors in the lead roles. When is the last time that happened on a major network? Plus it is from producer J.J. Abrams (Lost and Alias). Let's hope it lives up to its potential.

Confessions of A Shoe Addict?
Bossip is running a story today about R&B singer Ciara. Now first let me say, I know Ciara gets a lot of hate from the media and the public. I however am not a Ciara hater. Is she the most talented person in the world? Not even close. But she is beautiful and thanks to Missy and Jazzy Pha she at one time had some decent hits. Speaking of which, maybe she needs to find their number so they can save her career because The Dream is not working for her.
So anyway Bossip says that Ciara in a Parade Magazine interview claimed to spend $11,000/month on shoes. Now I don't read Parade so I didn't see the story myself. But if that is true all I can say is girl what are you thinking?? I love shoes just as much as the next girl and if I had her bank account, I could probably do some serious damage myself. But every month?
If you tune in to one of the shows that tell the "untold stories" behind celebs (like Behind the Music or E! True Hollywood Story) I guarantee you will see this: a celeb who at one time was on the top of the industry then fast forward 10 years and they are bankrupt, getting evicted from their home, struggling to pay their bills and crying about how they lost it all. Well when I see that I think "what in the world happened to all the money you were making". Should someone who ever had an income of hundreds of thousands of dollars a year ever go bankrupt? Not if they know how to manage their money. Very few celebs have the talent or charisma to keep the public interested in them for a long period of time. For everyone else, there will come a day when the public no longer buys their albums or goes to see their movies and no one will be interested in what you had for lunch much less what you wear on your feet. And when you weren't even an A list celeb to begin with, that day might be coming sooner than you think...
All I can say is Ciara, take your pennies and stow them away for a rainy day. You never know when you might need them.
You can check out the story here.
