Kerry Washington in Gucci

Kerry Washington wore this gorgeous Gucci dress to Mary J. Blige's 2nd Annual Honors Concert. The concert is held annually to help raise money for Blige's charity FFAWN which provides young women financial assistance so that they can attend college. I absolutely love this look on Kerry! What do you guys think?

Kerry Washington in Dolce & Gabbana

Anyone who reads my blog knows how much I love Kerry Washington's style! Here she is at a pre-oscars event wearing a floral dress from designer Dolce & Gabbana. I'm not going to even ask if it is hot or not because it is, without question, HOT.

Amber Riley at the SAG Awards

Did any of you watch the SAG awards? Glee star Amber Riley definitely stole the red carpet in her black one-shoulder dress from designer Anne Barge. I love this look on her!

Ring in 2011 In Style

Hey guys! Since the new year is quickly approaching I decided to do a post of some of my favorite celebrity inspired New Year's Eve looks. No item is priced over $50 and each individual look is less than $100.

1. Lucy Hale Pretty Little Liars

My first look is inspired by one of Lucy Hale's promo pics for her TV show Pretty Little Liars.

And here's how I recreated the look.

2. My second look is inspired by a dress that Rihanna wore during one of her performances. Here's the look on her.

And here's how I recreated it.

3. This is probably my favorite look of the three. It was inspired by Halle Berry at this year's Spike TV Scream Awards. Here's the look on her.

And here's how I recreated it.

Hit or Miss: Katy Perry

Katy Perry made an appearance at Nordstrom in NYC today for the release of her new perfume Purr. When I first saw her in this Zac Posen dress, I loved it, but the picture I saw was taken from the waist up. Once I saw the whole dress, I wasn't really a fan of the bottom. However, overall, I still think she looks stunning.

What do you guys think? Is this a hit or a miss?

Style Icon: Keri Hilson

I have to admit, usually when I refer to someone as a style icon, a lot of times what I really mean is that I secretly want to steal their wardrobe! That wouldn't really be true about Keri. I love her style (and I'm sure she has an amazing shoe collection), but I don't think I have the confidence required to pull off her looks. It takes a lot of guts to be unique. There really isn't another celeb out right now that looks like her and I can't really think of any past artist's that she is imitating. Sometimes having style is about being true to yourself even if it makes you stand out from the crowd or is slightly different from what most people consider "fashion". Need proof? Just look at Keri. You can't deny, she looks stunning!

Here are a few of the looks that I really like.

Petite Fashionistas

It's not always easy being petite. From never being able to find pants that fit to having to constantly endure "short" jokes, it seems that many people incorrectly believe that there is something wrong with being petite. Personally, I love it (except for when I'm shopping). To prove my point here are just a few female celebs who have managed to make being petite look nothing short of AMAZING.

Eva Longoria Parker- 5'1

Salma Hayek- 5'2

Jada Pinkett Smith- 5'0

Sarah Jessica Parker- 5'4

Kylie Minogue- 5'1

Jennifer Love Hewitt- 5'2

2010 VMA Fashion Misses

The MTV Video Music Awards aired Sunday night and I have to say they were pretty boring! The white carpet was full of celebs, some looking ok and others not so much. Since no one was a huge hit for me, I think it would be more entertaining to talk about the misses. Here are some of my least favorite (female) looks for the night.

1. Katy Perry

I'm not quite sure what look she was going for but to me she looks like she's getting ready to step out on the ice in her figure skating costume.

2. Ke$ha

At this point I'd be more surprised to see her wear something almost stylish to a red carpet event. Can you hear that? Tick, tick, tick....the clock is (finally) winding down on her career.

3. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has made a career off of being quirky and I can appreciate that. However, there is no reason to rock a dress made entirely of raw meat. Can you say unsanitary?

4. Evan Rachel Wood

Poor thing. I don't even know what to say about this look except fire your stylist immediately! I do actually love her red hair but that's about it.

5. Cher

Cher, the 80s called and they want their outfit back! Don't get me wrong, I was happy to see Cher make an appearance but why she had to do it in that getup is beyond me.

Amazing Transformation: Kelly Osbourne

I know it has been a little while since Kelly Osbourne started sporting her new, glamorous look but every time I see her I can't get over how amazing she looks. She went from being the whiny, immature, socially awkward, and just plain weird daughter of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne to a much more mature, polished, sophisticated and glamorous version of herself (who would have ever thought those words would be used to describe Kelly!). I think she looks absolutely stunning, healthy, and happy. I hope she keeps up whatever she is doing because it is definitely working for her!

Here is Kelly before her transformation...

And here she is after...amazing!

Style Icon: Vanessa Williams

I know what you are thinking-Vanessa Williams? Yes and let me tell you why. Style is about more than putting on "fashionable" clothes. It's about an aura, a sense of pride, the way you carry yourself, an intangible that no one can quite put their finger on and that cannot be imitated. Vanessa Williams has for years been an icon. She was able to cement a career at a time when black people were shut out of Hollywood. She carried herself through her divorces with dignity and class and even when she had to move back in with her parents after the end of her first marriage, you never saw her resort to some of the shameless trash talking and media wars that we often see now. Like Yves Saint Laurent famously said "fashion fades, style is eternal". Say what you want but 20 years later people still know Vanessa Williams' name. She has proved that style is about more than what you put on the outside of your body.

Here are some of my favorite looks from Ms. Williams.

Vanessa at the 2008 Emmy Awards

Vanessa at the 2007 NAACP Image Awards

Vanessa at an event in 2008

I know that she and Rick Fox are no longer married but she still looked absolutely stunning at their 1999 wedding.
